Scaling an AI Startup from MVP to a $23M Series A

About the client
Code, reimagined.
Relace builds task-specific language models for the parts of coding agents where traditional LLMs break down. Their work makes code generation faster, cheaper, and more reliable.
The long-term vision: move software away from static systems toward dynamic, agent-driven ones. They're backed by Y Combinator, Matrix Partners, and a16z, and closed a $23M Series A.
How It Started
Before they were Relace
When they first came to us, the company wasn't called Relace. It was Squack - an early AI-for-Excel concept, still figuring out where the real demand was. The team was moving fast, testing ideas, changing positioning, not sure yet what they were building toward.
What they needed at that stage wasn’t a big website: just a simple, credible landing page that could capture early interest and support conversations with users and investors.
They shared some copy and a PNG of stitched-together reference screenshots. We turned that into a focused one-pager that held up while everything else was still in flux.

How It's Going
From landing page to real platform
Once Squack became Relace, the site had to keep up. We redesigned everything under the new brand and expanded it from a single page into a multi-page site.
One that could actually explain the product, carry the messaging, and hold up with investors. We built it to grow with them, not to be scrapped and rebuilt every time the positioning shifted.

1/3
Making their visual direction work
Relace's team knew what they wanted. Dark theme, technical feel, lots of space for the product to breathe through screenshots and diagrams. Strong opinions, high bar.
Our job was to take that direction and turn it into a design system that held together across pages, not just looked good on a single mock. Every decision balanced aesthetics with usability.
2/3
Animations built from scratch
To support their technical narrative, we created custom animations and illustrations from scratch. Using Rive and Lottie, we added motion that explained ideas without overwhelming the content.
Everything was carefully implemented to stay performant and easy to maintain. The result was a site that feels dynamic, polished, and aligned with Relace’s product philosophy.
3/3
A site built to keep changing
Relace kept shipping. New positioning, new subpages, new sections. The site structure made that easy. Things slotted in without breaking consistency or requiring a rebuild. After launch, we stayed on as their Webflow retainer, handling updates, quick turnarounds, and whatever the next phase of the product needed.

Testimonial
“Our growth speaks for itself: 200%, then 300%, then 66% over three months afer launch”
Webnomads felt like a seamless part of our team during Relace’s early days. The site became a key source of credibility - customers were impressed. As a small team, we needed constant updates to copy and structure - they made it effortless. We couldn’t have done it without them. I highly recommend Webnomads.
